1. Who is responsible for your data?
Terbis.se is operated by Terbis AB, referred to below as "Terbis," "we," or "us." We are the data controller for the personal data processed in connection with your use of this website.
Contact details: info (at) terbis.se
This policy is written to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which applies to Terbis as a Sweden-based, EU-operated site regardless of where a visitor is located.
2. What data do we collect?
We collect and process the following types of data:
- Email address, if you sign up for a newsletter in the future.
- Technical data, in anonymized/aggregated form (e.g. page views, approximate country, device type, and referring site) via Vercel Web Analytics. No IP address is stored and no individual visitor can be identified.
- Cookie data, see section 5 below.
- Information you provide directly, if you contact us by email.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data (e.g., health information, political opinions), and we ask that you do not send us such information.
3. Why do we process your data, and on what legal basis?
| Purpose | Data | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Sending a newsletter (not currently in operation) | Email address | Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) |
| Measuring and improving site content | Anonymized technical data (Vercel Web Analytics) | Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Responding to your inquiry | Email address, message content | Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
If a newsletter is introduced, you may withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email.
4. Who has access to your data?
We do not share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. We use the following service providers to operate the website, who may process your data as data processors on our behalf:
- Sanity (content management / CMS)
- Vercel (hosting / infrastructure)
- Newsletter tool: TBD — we do not use a newsletter tool today.
- Analytics tool: Vercel Web Analytics — cookie-free, collects only anonymized/aggregated traffic data.
These providers may only process your data according to our instructions and in accordance with applicable data protection law. Some providers may be established outside the EU/EEA; where that is the case, we ensure the transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards (e.g. the EU Standard Contractual Clauses).
5. Cookies
Terbis.se does not use cookies for tracking or analytics. The statistics from Vercel Web Analytics (see section 4) are collected entirely without cookies and cannot be linked to an individual visitor. Language selection (Swedish/English) is controlled entirely through the URL, not through cookies.
6. Affiliate links
Some articles on Terbis contain affiliate links, for example to books on Amazon via our own recommendations library. If you click such a link and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This does not influence which sources or books we choose to recommend — those are selected based on relevance to the content, not commission rate.
7. How long do we keep your data?
- Newsletter email address: not applicable today, since no newsletter exists. If one is introduced, the address is kept for as long as you remain subscribed, or until you unsubscribe.
- Technical data / server logs:Vercel Web Analytics data is aggregated and contains nothing tied to an individual visitor, per Vercel's own retention practices. Beyond that, basic operational and troubleshooting logging is handled according to Vercel's default settings.
- Contact messages: deleted or anonymized once the matter is resolved, unless we are legally required to retain the information longer.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
- Request rectification of inaccurate data.
- Request erasure of your data ("the right to be forgotten").
- Object to or request restriction of processing.
- Request data portability, where applicable.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Sweden, the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY), imy.se, or the data protection authority in your own EU/EEA country of residence.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info (at) terbis.se.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time, for example due to changes in law or new features on the site — such as if we begin using an analytics or newsletter tool. Material changes will be announced on the site. The date of the most recent update appears at the top of this document.
10. Contact
If you have questions about this policy or how your personal data is processed, contact us at info (at) terbis.se.
